now - 12/7 (Friday) A limited number of tickets are on-sale for the Nutcracker at the Opera House in Boston. Tickets are $25 each and include a round-trip bus ride. Tickets are available at the North or South Student Information Centers. For more information call Student Activities at 978-934-5001.

now - 12/10 (Monday) Warm Coat Collection: members of Psi Chi (Psychology Honors Club) will be holding a collection of warm coats, hats, mittens and gloves. Collection boxes will be located in Mahoney Hall and the lobby of Olsen Hall on North campus. All donations will benefit local shelters.

now - end of semester: International students may pick up their Student Health Insurance cards in the Student Health Services, located in McGauvran 334 on South Campus. Students must present their UMass Lowell student ID to receive their insurance card. Please call 978-934-4991 with any questions.

11/30 (Friday) The Women of UMass Lowell will display and sell their creations: art, crafts, poetry, food, and publications from 11:30am to 7:00pm in Cumnock Hall on North Campus! Come Discover the hidden talents of a wide range of UML-connected women; featuring music, door prizes, delicious food, and holiday treats! 12/2 (Sunday) The Discovery Series Holiday Concert: featuring Grammy nominee, John McCutcheon. The “Living & Celebrating Peace Holiday Concert,” is open to the public and appropriate for all ages; beginning at 2pm in Durgin Concert Hall on South Campus.

12/6 (Thursday) Graduate Student's Graduation Deadline: Are you completing your degree requirements this semester? If all coursework, thesis/dissertations and missing work will be completed by the end of the Fall semester, please remember this deadline to submit your graduation clearance forms to the Registrar’s Office!

12/7 (Friday) The Graduate Student Association (GSA) is holding an open meeting at 5:00 pm in Kitson 301 on North Campus. All graduate student clubs must send a representative from their club to this meeting. It will be followed by a Holiday Party open to all Grad students.

12/7 (Friday) WUML Lowell 91.5 FM Presents: ROCK FOR TOTS, in the VPAC on the 3rd Floor of Fox Hall, beginning at 6pm! Check back soon... Bands will be announced closer to the date! All proceeds from the concert will be sent to ONE LOWELL, a charitable, civic action group that stresses progressive action and access to vital services for citizens of Lowell, Massachusetts.

12/11 (Tuesday) Chancellor Marty Meehan will speak to Dr. Fred Lewis's Political Science classes at 12:30 p.m. in O'Leary 222. All UML students are invited to attend. An alumnus of UML’s Political Science program, the chancellor will comment and answer questions on current developments in national politics as well as matters of general concern to UMass Lowell students.

12/11 (Tuesday) "Playing with the Boys: Why Separate is not equal in Sports," is a talk by Eileen McDonagh and Laura Pappano. In their forcefully argued book, McDonagh and Pappano show in vivid detail how women have been unfairly excluded from participating in sports on an equal footing with men. This event starts at 7:30pm at the Campus Rec Center.

12/13 (Thursday) "Scenes from a Parish," a film by James Rutenbeck that explores two yeras un the life of St. Patrick's Church in South Lawrence, a traditionally Irish-American parish undergoing huge changes that reflect dramatic demogrpahic and economic shifts in the city. This film will be shown at 12:30 pm in O'Leary 222 on South Campus. For more information, please email Jeff_Gerson@uml.edu.

12/13 (Thursday) WUML Lowell 91.5 FM Potluck Dinner: Join in on some taste-testing fun! WUML welcomes the UML community to the Fox Hall MPR between 4 and 8pm to share delicacies in music and cuisine. Live music, Free Food, Lots of Fun!! Donations to better your "One and Only" college radio station will be accepted!!

12/13 (Thursday) Common Text Film Series Wrap-Up! Finish off the semester with a suspenseful turn. Take a break from studying and come watch, M. Night Scyamalan's 2004 Thriller, "The Village" at 7:00pm in O'Leary 222.
